Cloudhouse Cafe

Occupying the premises of the former grocers shop in Townfoot, the Cloudhouse gallery has been refurbished to enhance a feeling of light and space, with environmental concerns playing a major part in the refurbishment, including the installation of a carbon neutral wood pellet stove, and the use of sustainable or recycled building materials where possible.

Many of the details of the old shop and storerooms have been preserved including the beams, Victorian panelling and a grocers winch. The space has been extended to include a more private mezzanine level accessed by a stunning spiral stair made by Rob Wilson, of Galashiels.
